At Exclusive Golf Carts, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not entirely happy, we are here to help. Our policy is guided by South African consumer laws to ensure a fair process for both new and pre-owned vehicle purchases.
1. 7-Day “Cooling-Off” Period (Online Purchases Only)
In accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), if you purchased your golf cart or accessories through our website:
- You have 7 days after receiving your order to cancel it for any reason.
- The goods must be returned in their original, unused condition and packaging.
- You will be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods to our Kimberley showroom.
- Once inspected and approved, a full refund will be processed within 30 days.
2. Defective or Damaged Goods (6-Month Warranty)
Under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), you have a right to receive goods that are of good quality, in good working order, and free of defects.
- Six-Month Protection: If a material defect arises within 6 months of delivery, you may return the cart for a repair, replacement, or refund.
- Customer Choice: As the consumer, you have the right to choose between these three remedies, provided the defect is material and not caused by your own negligence or alteration.
- Inspection: We reserve the right to inspect the vehicle to verify the defect before finalizing a refund or replacement.
- Exceptions: This does not cover normal wear and tear, battery neglect, or defects that were clearly disclosed to you at the time of sale (especially for pre-owned carts).
3. Incorrect Items Delivered
If we deliver a cart or part that does not match your order (e.g., wrong colour, different model), please notify us immediately or within 24 hours of delivery. We will arrange to collect the incorrect item and deliver the correct one at no additional cost to you.
4. Non-Returnable Items
The following cannot be returned unless they are defective:
- Custom-built or personalized golf carts modified to your specific requirements.
- Electronic components or software that has been unsealed or installed.
- Special order parts not kept in standard stock.
5. Refund Process
- Method: Refunds are generally issued via EFT to the original bank account used for payment.
- Timeline: Once a return is validated, please allow 7–10 business days for the funds to reflect in your account.
- Deductions: We may charge a reasonable amount for “restocking” or usage if the vehicle has been driven extensively or damaged while in your care.
