Shipping Policy

This Shipping Policy explains how Exclusive Golf Carts (“we,” “us,” or “our”) processes orders, calculates delivery costs, dispatches items, and delivers golf carts, parts, and accessories within South Africa. Please read this policy before placing an order.

1) Where We Ship

We ship within South Africa only.

Delivery coverage
We deliver to most regions nationwide, including major metros and many outlying areas. In some remote locations, delivery may require:

  • longer transit times,
  • delivery to a nearby depot/collection point, and/or
  • a surcharge due to carrier limitations.

If we cannot deliver to a specific address, we will contact you to arrange an alternative solution.

2) What We Ship

We ship:

  • New and pre-owned golf carts (gas, electric, and custom models)
  • Parts and accessories
  • Installed upgrades and custom builds (subject to build/fitment timelines)

Some orders may ship in multiple packages or in separate consignments (e.g., a cart shipped via freight and accessories shipped via courier).

3) Order Processing Time (Handling Time)

“Processing time” means the time between order confirmation/payment and dispatch from our premises.

In-stock parts and accessories
Typically processed within 1-3 business days after payment confirmation.

In-stock golf carts
Typically processed within 1-5 business days after payment confirmation, as carts may require pre-delivery inspection and preparation.

Custom carts and workshop installations
Custom builds and orders requiring workshop fitment (e.g., seating upgrades, canopies, lift kits, technology, lighting, custom paint, premium accessories) require additional time. We will provide an estimated lead time once specifications are confirmed. Dispatch occurs after completion, quality checks, and payment confirmation.

Business days exclude weekends and South African public holidays.

4) Shipping Methods

Shipping method depends on the product type, destination, and safety requirements.

Golf carts (complete units)
Delivered via dedicated transport or freight services suitable for vehicle/cart transport.

  • Some shipments may be palletised or otherwise secured for safe transit.

Parts and accessories
Shipped via reputable courier or freight networks.

Delivery type
Delivery may be:

  • Door-to-door where feasible, or
  • Curbside/kerbside delivery, depending on carrier policy and site access.

We will advise you if special handling is required.

5) Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated based on:

  • delivery address and distance,
  • shipment size/weight and handling requirements,
  • whether the item must be palletised/crated,
  • whether a tail-lift or special equipment is required,
  • multi-cart loads vs single-cart loads,
  • access restrictions and delivery conditions.

How you’ll see the shipping cost
Depending on your order, shipping may be:

  • shown at checkout, or
  • provided as a separate shipping quote (especially common for complete carts and long-distance freight).

If a shipping quote is required, we will confirm the shipping cost with you before dispatch.

6) Estimated Delivery Times (Transit Time)

Transit times are estimates from the date of dispatch, not the date of order.

Typical delivery estimates after dispatch:

  • Major metros: 2-7 business days
  • Regional/outlying areas: 5-14 business days
  • Remote/limited-access areas: may take longer depending on carrier routes and depot schedules

Peak periods, severe weather, road closures, strikes, or carrier delays may impact delivery timelines.

7) Dispatch Confirmation and Tracking

When available, we will provide:

  • a dispatch confirmation, and
  • tracking information (courier waybill / consignment details).

Some freight services for complete carts may use scheduled delivery rather than scan-based tracking. In these cases, we will coordinate delivery updates with the transporter and keep you informed.

8) Delivery Requirements (Customer Responsibilities)

To ensure successful delivery, you agree to provide:

  • the correct delivery address and contact details,
  • a recipient available to receive and sign (where required),
  • safe and reasonable access for delivery vehicles,
  • any special instructions (estate access codes, security rules, delivery hours, loading bay details).

Estates, complexes, farms, and businesses
If your location has restricted access, you must arrange entry clearance in advance. If a driver cannot access the premises, the shipment may be redirected to a depot or rescheduled at additional cost.

9) Missed Deliveries, Address Errors, and Re-Delivery Fees

If delivery fails due to:

  • incorrect address details,
  • no recipient available,
  • access restrictions not communicated in advance,
  • refusal to accept delivery without valid reason,

the carrier may charge additional fees for re-delivery, storage, or return-to-sender. Any such fees may be billed to you.

10) Delivery Inspection (Damage, Missing Items)

Please inspect the delivery immediately upon arrival.

If you notice:

  • visible damage to packaging or goods,
  • missing items,
  • signs of tampering,

you should:

  • Take clear photos,
  • Note the issue on the delivery paperwork (if applicable), and
  • Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and supporting photos.

We will assist with the claims process and work toward a resolution (repair, replacement, or refund where applicable).

11) When Ownership/Risk Transfers

Unless otherwise required by South African law, risk transfers when:

  • the order is delivered to the supplied address and accepted, or
  • you (or your nominated carrier) collect the order from us.

If you arrange your own courier or transporter, you are responsible for transit risk after handover to your carrier. We strongly recommend using insured transport for high-value items.
